San Francisco Businesses Prepare For Influx Of World Series Crowds
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Thousands will crowd AT&T Park on Wednesday night for Game 1 of the World Series between the Giants and Detroit Tigers – and local businesses are expected to stay busy as well.
San Francisco's long playoff run has once again been a boon for local businesses near the ballpark.

That includes at Pete's Tavern and Pedro's Cantina, where bartenders and staff are making sure everything is in place for what will be one of the busiest nights of the year.
"We've been here every game. We're used to this volume," said manager Marty McReynolds. "We are ready to go with any amount of volume that we get,"

McReynolds said that not having a game ticket is not a problem as crowds at the two establishments have gotten the same experience as those in the ballpark.
"When we won, it was like being in the locker room with the Giants. There was confetti and napkins flying everywhere, people spraying their beers and water in the air," he said.
The extended playoff run also means big business for Enrique Barreto, whose family runs a small souvenir stand at 3rd and King.
"We usually only open on game days but now, we're going to be open for at least a month," he said.
Meanwhile, San Francisco police said they are prepared for the World Series, which includes managing crowds outside the ballpark.
