San Carlos Bank Robbed; Suspect Captured On Security Camera
SAN CARLOS (CBS SF) -- The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a bank in San Carlos on Monday afternoon.
The robbery occurred at about 2:50 p.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo bank located at 632 Laurel St., sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
The suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. He told the teller that he had a gun and demanded money, Rosenblatt said.
Rosenblatt said no gun was seen during the incident.
While the teller was gathering money, the bank's silent alarm was triggered, according to Rosenblatt.
The suspect fled the bank on foot with thousands of dollars, she said.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 30s who is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and between 220 and 250 pounds. He was wearing a blue button-down collared shirt with white pinstripes, khaki pants, a black hat and white gardening-type gloves.
