Salinas Limousine Driver Arrested For Allegedly Raping Passenger
SALINAS (BCN) - The Monterey County Sheriff's Office arrested a limousine driver suspected of raping a woman on Saturday, after she was unable to pay the rental fee.
At approximately 2:55 a.m., officers responded to reports of a sexual assault at an undisclosed address on Rogge Village Loop in northern Salinas, located in the Bolsa Knolls community.
Police said that Henry Reed, Jr., 51, allegedly raped a female passenger when she was unable to pay for the limousine service he had provided.
Reed apparently sexually assaulted the woman in the back of his SUV, the sheriff's office said.
When questioned by police, Reed admitted to having sexual intercourse with the woman, but said that the act was consensual.
Following an investigation, the sheriff's office learned that Reed was on court probation for failing to pay child support as well as out on bail for a pending burglary case.
Reed was booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of rape, probation violation and violating the terms of his bail.
