6-Year-Old Girl Killed In Salinas 101 Rollover Crash

SALINAS (CBS SF) - A 6-year-old girl was ejected from a vehicle and killed during a solo-vehicle rollover crash on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Salinas earlier this week, according to the Monterey County coroner's office.

Xitlali Molina, a Salinas resident, was one of six family members injured when the vehicle she was riding in overturned about a quarter-mile north of Laurel Drive around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Molina was declared dead at Natividad Medical Center about 40 minutes later.

The other family members were all treated at various hospitals and are expected to survive.

The coroner's office is performing a postmortem examination on Molina and will be releasing the results later today.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
