Saints Waiting For Asomugha To Choose Them Or Niners
NEW ORLEANS (CBS Sports) -- Nnamdi Asomugha and New Orleans Saints officials "hit it off" during the cornerback's free-agent visit to New Orleans over the weekend, general manager Mickey Loomis told the Times-Picayune newspaper.
"We're always looking for good players to improve our team and we think Nnamdi would be a great fit for our defense and our team," Loomis said, adding the Saints are waiting for Asomugha to decide where he wants to play.
Asomugha, who turns 32 in July and played for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, also visited the San Francisco 49ers last week.
Asomugha was at his best when he played for Rob Ryan in Oakland with the Raiders. Ryan is the Saints' new defensive coordinator.
