Saint Mary's Cruises In Opener Over College Of Idaho

MORAGA (AP) -- Clint Steindl scored 20 points to lead Saint Mary's past College of Idaho 86-42 Friday night.

It was the season opener for Saint Mary's, which reached the Sweet 16 in last season's NCAA tournament. Kenton Walker scored 14 points, Rob Jones 11 and Mitchell Young 10 for the Gaels, who used a 26-4 first-half run to lead 41-19 at the break.

Kelly McCarty led the Coyotes with 14 points and Matt Ballenger had 10. The College of Idaho is a member of NAIA.
