Minor Injuries After RV Hits Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The occupants of a recreational vehicle suffered minor injuries after the vehicle struck the toll plaza at the Golden Gate Bridge Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The CHP Marin Twitter account posted a photo of the scene shortly before 12:30 p.m., stating the two wide lanes at the right side of the toll plaza were closed.
CHP later posted that when they arrived on the scene, they found the occupants trapped inside the vehicle as the only door to the RV was ripped off in the collision and the vehicle was wedged into the toll booth.
Golden Gate Bridge crews were able to extract the RV and repair the toll plaza in less than an hour, CHP said. The occupants suffered very minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Crews from CHP, Golden Gate Bridge and Southern Marin Fire District all responded to the incident.
