Russian River Brewing Gives Details Of 2016 Pliny The Younger Release
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) – One of the rarest craft beers in the world, the Russian River Brewing Company has released details regarding the latest release of Pliny the Younger.
According to a statement on their website, the 12th edition of Pliny the Younger will be available at their brewpub in Santa Rosa from February 5th to February 18th. The brew has been released in a very limited run every February since 2005.
Pliny the Younger has gained a cult following over the years and international recognition, with fans willing to travel and wait hours in line for a sip. The brew has a 100 score on Beer Advocate.
"We've had people from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, you know, all over Europe, Chile, everywhere. It really surprises me that people will travel this far and plan their vacation around one of our beers," Russian River Brewing Company co-owner Vinnie Cilurzo told KPIX 5 in an interview last year.
During the release, patrons are limited to three hours inside the brewpub and three 10 ounce glasses of Pliny the Younger.
For those who aren't willing to make the trip to Santa Rosa, the brewery said distribution of Pliny the Younger to certain establishments around Sonoma County and the Bay Area would begin on the week of February 8th.
