Rohnert Park Police Arrest Man Suspected In 2 DUI Hit-And-Runs
ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a man in connection with two hit and run collisions Friday afternoon in Rohnert Park.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety officers responded to the area of Golf Course and Country Club drives on a report of a hit and run collision.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white Mercedes coupe, police said.
According to witnesses, the suspect vehicle struck the vehicle and then fled westbound on Golf Course Drive before stopping in the parking lot of the Mountain Shadows apartment complex, police said.
While officers responded to the scene, a second report was received for a hit and run collision involving the same suspect vehicle in the Double Decker Lanes bowling alley parking lot, police said.
None of the victims in the vehicles that were struck by the suspect vehicle were injured, according to police.
Police determined that 44-year-old Rohnert Park resident Fahim Jooya was the suspect in connection with the two hit and run collisions.
Investigating officers learned that Jooya had intentionally hit the two vehicles to "get the government's attention," police said.
According to police, Jooya also showed signs of being under the influence of a stimulant.
Police arrested Jooya on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of drugs, and a probation violation, police said.
The suspect was booked into the Sonoma County jail.
