Rideshare Wars: Uber, Lyft & Sidecar Fight For Customers With Cheap Fares
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- In their battle for public dominance, Uber, Lyft and Sidecar are giving ridesharing evangelists a reason to rejoice.
On Thursday, Uber announced all rides in San Francisco are $5 if riders choose the Uber Pool option. Now Lyft is getting in on the action and offering its own carpooling option "Lyft Line" for $2.25 -- the price of a Muni fare. Sidecar recently dropped $5 into everyone's accounts.
These companies are doing more than just convincing customers to ride with them. They're also offering cash incentives and new car financing to recruit drivers. But it's the battle has turned dirty following allegations that Uber scheduled and canceled thousands of Lyft's rides to keep their cars unavailable to paying customers.

Uber is currently established in over 100 cities globally while Lyft and Sidecar are focusing on the American market at the moment.
