Richmond Teen Gang-Rape Victim Testifies At Trial
MARTINEZ (KCBS)— The young woman at the center of a notorious gang-rape trial in Contra Costa County took the witness stand for the first time in the case on Monday. Jane Doe, as she is being called in court, spoke of lingering pain almost four years after the attack.
Jurors heard the victim, who is about 5'4" and a little over 100 pounds testify in court that she was even smaller and lighter when she was gang raped on the campus of Richmond High in October 2009.
She told the prosecuting attorney that she suffers from headaches, her right rotator cuff on her shoulder pops out on occasion and so does her hip. She has scars on her back where her assailants were putting out their cigarette butts.
She testified that she was leaving a homecoming dance when she met up with a childhood friend who asked her to join him and a few other friends on campus.
She said she made some small talk and remembers standing up to leave. Next thing she knew, she was waking up in the hospital with pain from head to toe.
Suspects Jose Montano and Marcelles Peter are among six people accused of raping the victim, who was 16 at the time. Authorities said she was beaten, robbed and sexually abused over two hours while as many as 20 people watched.
Her blood-alcohol content was .35, a near fatal amount, but she told the prosecutors she had no recollection of drinking. Her statement had conflicted with what she told police.

She said she has no memory of having sex with anyone, but she remembers getting kicked in the stomach and falling.
The victim's testimony was in a very matter of fact tone and she showed very little emotion.
