Reward Offered In San Mateo '08 T.G.I. Friday's Murder

SAN MATEO (BCN) - Three years after a T.G.I. Friday's manager was found bludgeoned to death inside the restaurant, San Mateo police are still searching for clues and are offering a $40,000 reward in the case.

On the morning of Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, the morning accountant at the T.G.I. Friday's at 3101 South El Camino Real found the body of night manager Doug Castello, police said.

Castello, a 36-year-old Hayward resident, died of blunt force trauma to the head, police said. It is still unclear if robbery was the motive for the murder or if Castello knew his attacker.

Police have "tirelessly explored all leads that have arisen" and are renewing their call for help from the public, according to a statement released by the department on Wednesday.

The reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Mateo Police Department at (650) 522-7650. Anonymous tipsters may call (650) 522-7676, text a tip to (650) 262-3473, or e-mail sanmateo@tipnow.org.
