Reward Grows For SF Tenderloin Dog-Killing Suspect
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The reward fund for information leading to the arrest of a San Francisco robbery suspect accused of killing a woman's dog has grown to $3,000.
Police on Wednesday released surveillance video of the man suspected of throwing a woman's Pekinese dog into the street after he robbed her on Dec. 28. The animal died of its injuries soon afterwards.
The woman had pulled over at the corner of Leavenworth and McAllister streets in the Tenderloin because, she said, her cell phone had fallen underneath the passenger seat of her car.

As she got out and walked around to the passenger side door, a man came up and reached into her pockets demanding money, she said. The dog still in the car started barking.
That's when the man reached into the vehicle and hurled the animal into traffic, according to Michael Colbruno, a witness who decided to start a reward fund to help solve the crime.
"When she didn't have enough money, he took her dog, lifted it over his head and hurled it into moving traffic," he said.
Support for the woman has been pouring in. Several people have even offered her a new dog, but the 30-year-old says she's not ready yet.
"I miss her and I'm angry," she said.
Police describe the suspect on the video as a clean-shaven African American, about 6' 1" and lean.
