Reptiles Stolen From Fresno Science Museum
FRESNO (CBS/AP) -- A Fresno science museum is missing a boa constrictor, two ball pythons and a monitor lizard after a vandal broke in and made off with the reptiles.
Discovery Center Director Mary Ellen Wright told the Fresno Bee that workers discovered the theft on Thursday morning. The unidentified suspect apparently broke in overnight.
Surveillance video shows the thief grabbing a plastic trash bag and throwing the reptiles in. The suspect also went into the center's gift shop and took children's toys, the phone system and the security monitor.
Wright said the reptiles are mortal enemies, and she was worried about their conditions.
The boa constrictor is 7 feet long. The pythons are 3 feet and the lizard 3 and ½ feet.
The Bee reports that they are worth hundreds of dollars.
