Reggie Bush Reaches a Deal With The 49ers
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/AP) — A person with knowledge of the agreement has told The Associated Press that free agent running back Reggie Bush has reached a deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday and didn't provide details. Bush visited the team Wednesday and could be seen touring outside Levi's Stadium with new San Francisco coach Jim Tomsula. Bush joins a Niners team that lost Frank Gore in free agency to the Colts, left guard Mike Iupati to the Arizona Cardinals and a pair of cornerbacks who are now gone, too — Chris Culliver and Perrish Cox.
Five-time All Pro linebacker Patrick Willis retired on Tuesday.
Bush played in only 11 games with nine starts last season with the Lions because of injuries. He carried 76 times for 297 yards and two touchdowns.
He posted Saturday on Twitter, "The best is yet to come #49ers."
Also Saturday, the 49ers announced they have signed cornerback Shareece Wright to a one-year contract.
