Redwood City Firefighters Beat City's Response Time Goal Getting To Restaurant Fire
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) -- Firefighters response time Tuesday night to a fire at a Redwood City restaurant was quicker than the city's goals, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded at 11:45 p.m. to the fire at the Broadway Masala restaurant at 2397 Broadway.
Firefighters had a difficult time locating the fire because of weather conditions, but a police officer discovered the location and alerted fire crews, according to fire officials.
The time for firefighters to leave the station after being dispatched was 1 minute, 9 seconds, which is within the City's goal of 1 minute, 30 seconds, fire officials said.
Firefighters were at the fire in 3 minutes, 24 seconds, of being dispatched, which is within the city's goal of five minutes.
The fire was upgraded to two-alarms at 12:01 a.m. and firefighters had it under control by 12:10 a.m., fire officials said.
The fire was extinguished at 12:45 a.m.
The cause for the fire remains under investigation, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, fire officials said.
