Raider's Woodson Withstanding Test Of Time
OAKLAND, Calif. (CBS-SF) – Like one of his fine wines, Oakland Raiders defense back Charles Woodson is simply getting better with age.
The 39-year-old Woodson was recently named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October, collecting three of his four interceptions over that time span and helping the Raiders become one of the league's early season surprises.
When asked about the award, the 16-year NFL veteran said he still cherishes each and every one.
"It means a great deal, I love what I do, I love my job," Woodson said on the team's website. "It just says that there's a reason why I'm still here because I'm able to go out there and do my job and do it well."
Woodson knows a thing or two about aging well. He is the owner of Charles Woodson wines near Calistoga in the Napa Valley.
Woodson's wines range in price from $250 for an autographed bottle of Cabernet to $115 for a non-autographed version.
Woodson is not alone when it comes to athletes involved in Northern California wineries. Here is a list of some of the others you may recognize.
