Rachel Bilson Opens Up About Hayden Christensen

(CBS NEWS) - Maybe Hayden Christensen should put a ring on it (again), and lock down his love of six years, Rachel Bilson. Because from the way the "Hart of Dixie" star tells it, she could be going for girlfriend of the year.

"I'm a really good girlfriend -- I always put all that first in my life. I'm definitely the person who would make him his favorite dinner to come home to," Bilson tells Cosmopolitan magazine in the upcoming May issue, which she covers. "I love to cook, so we make dinner at home a lot and watch movies."

Bilson rarely opens up about her love life, but she seems eager to express her feelings about wanting a family in the near future. "I definitely have family on the brain," she tells the magazine. "Having kids is something I want to see in my future -- I hope."

The 31-year-old actress and Christensen met on the set of "Jumper" in 2007, and became engaged in 2008 -- but they called off the engagement in 2010 reportedly due to long-distance issues (she was in L.A., while he was in Canada at the time), but their split did not last long. Prior to Christensen, Bilson dated her "O.C." costar and on-screen boyfriend Adam Brody from 2003 to 2006.

To keep her beau's attention, the actress admits that she's not shy about showing off a little leg. "Guys are so visual," she explains. "I can never go wrong with a tight dress or a short skirt." Just as long as she doesn't eat too many of those Magnum ice cream bars she shills. I jest, I jest, I doubt she's ever eaten a whole one anyway.

Bilson's Cosmo will be on newsstands on April 9.
