Quake Rattles North Coast Near Fort Bragg
FORT BRAGG (CBS/AP) -- No damage or injuries have been reported after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake rattled a coastal area in far northern California.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at 5:05 a.m. Sunday about three miles northwest of Fort Bragg in Mendocino County. Initially the earthquake had been reported as a 4.2 magnitude quake, but the USGS upgraded the quake after it was reviewed by a seismologist.
A Fort Bragg police dispatcher says though there was no damage, police did receive calls from city residents about the quake.
Fort Bragg is about 140 miles north of San Francisco.
