Proposed Smoking Ban Hits Snag in Contra Costa County

MARTINEZ, Calif. (KCBS) - A proposed smoking ban in new apartment units in unincorporated parts of Contra Costa has hit a snag. Officials have to determine what to do about people who smoke medical marijuana.

No final decision has been made about whether to exempt medical marijuana users from the proposed ordinance.

The proposed smoking ban inside multi-unit apartments is an extension of the county's secondhand smoke protections ordinance.
