Prime Suspect Arrested In Death Of Oakland Federal Investigator
OAKLAND (CBS / AP) — Oakland police have arrested a prime suspect in the disappearance and death of a federal criminal investigator whose body was found in Vacaville more than two months ago.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office said 56-year-old Randy Alana, who had been in jail on a parole violation since Aug. 6, was booked Thursday on suspicion of murder and theft.
Alana was jailed two days after Sandra Coke was reported missing. Police said he violated parole by contacting the investigator, whom he briefly dated about 20 years ago.
Friends and police said she was last seen with Alana Aug. 4.
Alana denied harming Coke in a jailhouse interview with the Oakland Tribune, and said the two planned to marry.
Alana, whose arraignment is set for Friday, has an extensive criminal record.
