Powerball Ticket Sold In Fremont Worth Almost $800K
FREMONT (CBS SF) -- A Powerball ticket with five out of six matching numbers in Saturday night's drawing was purchased at a convenience store in Fremont, according to California Lottery officials.
The ticket is one of six sold in California with five matching numbers. Those tickets are worth $779,264 each, according to lottery officials.
It was purchased at a 7-Eleven at 4193 Central Avenue, but as of Saturday night the ticket's owner had not yet been identified.
Lottery officials are urging the winner to sign the back of the ticket in ink, keep it in a very safe place and bring it into the lottery district office as soon as possible.
Nobody won Saturday night's $949 million jackpot, which has since increased to an unprecedented $1.3 billion.
The California Lottery urges gamblers to play responsibly. Resources for people with gambling problems can be accessed by calling 1-800-GAMBLER.
