SANTA CRUZ COUNTY (CBS SF) - More than 21,000 PG&E customers remained without power in Santa Cruz County as of late Friday morning, as well as hundreds in the Bay Area, after a wind storm blew through the region Wednesday and Thursday, utility officials said.
As of 11 a.m., about 21,290 customers were without power in Santa Cruz County, according to PG&E spokeswoman Katie Romans.
In the Bay Area, 680 customers also had no power as of 11 a.m., down from 1,880 four hours earlier, Romans said.

The South Bay was the hardest-hit region, with outages affecting 440 customers. There were also 170 affected customers in the East Bay, 40 in the North Bay and 30 along the Peninsula.
No customers were affected in San Francisco.
Romans said PG&E crews were working to get power restored to the majority of the customers by the end of the day, but said some customers in more remote locations in Santa Cruz County may be without power until Saturday.
