UPDATE: Police Seek Suspect In Series of San Francisco Bank Robberies, Including 3 Saturday
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN/CBS SF) -- Police in San Francisco are asking for the public's help finding a man suspected in a series of bank robberies, including three that happened on Saturday alone, according to authorities.
The San Francisco Police Department Investigations Twitter account posted about three bank robberies on Saturday.
According to the police, officers first responded to a report of a robbery around 10:05 a.m. at a bank in the 4600 block of Mission Street.
At the scene, officers learned a male suspect entered the bank, threatened an employee, and demanded cash. After the employee complied, the suspect fled the scene, police said.
Two hours later, around 12:10 p.m., officers learned of another robbery happening at a bank in the 2300 block of 16th Street.
In that incident, a suspect entered the bank, demanded cash, and -- after an employee complied with his demands -- he fled. There was also a third bank robbery on the 1800 block of 19th Avenue.
On Monday, authorities provided additional information on seven separate bank robberies in San Francisco, saying that the series of crimes began on January 25.
Police said the robberies follow a similar modus operandi in which the suspect enters a bank, hands a teller a threatening note, and demands money.
In all incidents, the tellers have complied and provided the suspect with money. The suspect then flees the bank. The suspect is wanted in connection with the following list of robberies.
- January 25, 2022, on the 3800 block of 3rd St.
- January 27, 2022, on the 2900 block of Mission St.
- January 27, 2022, on the 600 block of 8th St.
- February 1, 2022, on the 2600 block of San Bruno Ave.

- February 5, 2022, on the 1800 block of 19th Ave.
- February 5, 2022, on the 2300 block of 16th St.
Police said the suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, possibly in his mid-20's or mid-30's, approximately 5'10" tall, lean, and weighing around 150 lbs.
The investigation is being led by the SFPD Robbery Detail and is seeking the community's assistance in identifying and locating the suspect.
