Police Ramp Up Patrols After Killing At Richmond BART Station
RICHMOND (CBS / AP) -- Police say they are ramping up patrols following the shooting death of a man outside a Bay Area Rapid Transit station earlier this month.
BART police Lt. Steve Coontz told the Contra Costa Times that one of three officers who patrol the line form Richmond to Berkeley will be at the Richmond station during peak hours in the morning and afternoons.
Meanwhile, Richmond police said they will have two officers patrol the area and even riding the trains.
The additional police presence comes after 34-year-old Raymond Harris was shot and killed in a barrage of gunfire outside the Richmond BART station on March 14.
BART police say witnesses reported seeing one or two men running from the station.
No arrests have been made.
