5 Suspects Arrested In Connection With Orinda Halloween Massacre
MARIN CITY (CBS SF) -- Five people have been arrested Thursday in connection with the mass shooting at an Orinda rental home on Halloween, according to authorities.
Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies served search warrants at the apartment complex on the 200 block of Drake Ave. in Marin City.
Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee said the police activity was in connection with the Halloween party shooting at a Airbnb rental in Orinda which left five partygoers dead. Lee originally said one suspect had been arrested; later he announced there had been "multiple arrests."
Neighbors woke up to the loud and repeated announcement from the SWAT team.
Ricky Buquia told KPIX his sister lives in apartment #205. He believed the Contra Costa County Sheriff's deputies were looking for his nephew.
"Her son don't even live here. He might use the address, but he don't live here," said Buquia. "And they had no reason to break into my sister's house because they heard what her kid might have done."
SWAT officers eventually moved in with their guns drawn.
"It's kids that's doing that cause they don't have no value on life, you know? And it's real sad, because their parents are scared of them," said Buquia. "They don't have no home training."
More details were released late Thursday afternoon. After roughly two weeks of investigation, sheriff's deputies served warrants Thursday morning in San Mateo, Marin City, Vallejo and Antioch. Assisting deputies were local law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as the FBI.
There are four suspects who have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder and conspiracy including 28-year-old Lebraun Wallace from San Mateo, 20-year-old Jaquez Sweeney and 20-year-old Jason Iles from Marin City as well as 30-year-old Shamron Mitchell from Antioch. All four men are being held without bail.
Vallejo resident Devin Williamson, 21, has also been charged as an accessory to the crime. He's being held on $500,000 bail.
Earlier, the Marin County Sheriff's Office confirmed the raid and deferred questions about Thursday's activity to the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office.
Orinda police have been referring all calls about the shooting to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, saying they have no new information on the case.

Police in Orinda never responded to noise complaints called in by neighbors on the night of the shooting prior to gunfire erupting at 10:49 p.m. It was later revealed that officers were assigned to others higher priority calls outside of Orinda.
A new report indicates also the owners of that home at 114 Lucille Way in Orinda had a history of allowing Airbnb renters to throw big parties on the property.
According to records obtained by the Mercury News, as recently as last February, Michael Wang and Wen-Lin Luo were charging $800 for large parties plus a $350 cleaning fee.
At one point they had posted on Airbnb that renters could throw parties at the house with as many as 30 guests, but later amended their rental advertisement.
