Police Arrest Couple In Connection With Sacramento Bar Shooting
SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) -- Police have arrested a married couple they say were connected to a New Year's Eve shooting in a Sacramento bar that killed two people and left three others wounded.
Sacramento police say 36-year-old Amber Scholz instigated the altercation and her husband, 34-year-old Charles Fowler-Scholz, was involved in a fight before the shooting at the Sports Corner Cafe in Old Sacramento area of the city about 9:40 p.m. Monday.
Police arrested the couple Friday.
The suspected gunman in the shooting -- 22-year-old Carlito Montoya -- has also been arrested. Police say Montoya was wounded by an armed security guard at the bar. Montoya was in custody at a hospital where he was being treated for his wounds.
The security guard and a 30-year-old woman in the bar were also wounded.
Police said their injuries were not considered to be life threatening.
