Police Arrest Burglary Suspect In Petaluma
PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with a residential burglary in Petaluma on Friday night, police said.
Petaluma resident Jose Zorilla was arrested following a report of a burglary in the 1200 block of Lindberg Lane.
At about 10:40 p.m. a resident of a housing complex heard noises that sounded like screen being cut, police said.
The resident looked out their window and saw the suspect. The resident began yelling at the suspect, police said.
The suspect attempted to hide in a backyard of the apartment complex. The victim continued yelling at the suspect while on the phone with police.
Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the suspect, who was attempting to flee on a bicycle.
Police found the suspect had cut two screens at two different apartments in an attempt to gain entry.
Zorilla was booked into Sonoma County Jail for attempted burglary in an inhabited dwelling and possession of brass knuckles.
