Pleasant Hill Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In Oakland
OAKLAND (BCN) - A man was arrested in Oakland Tuesday on suspicion of robbing a bank in Pleasant Hill last month, police said.
Ronald Glenn Jones, 54, was arrested at a hotel on Hegenberger Road in Oakland in connection with the Nov. 27 robbery at a Bank of America at 2178 Contra Costa Blvd., according to police.
Jones allegedly approached a teller window with a silver pistol, presented a note demanding cash, then fled with the money, police said.
On Nov. 30, police identified Jones as a suspect and issued a no-bail warrant for his arrest. Police did not say how they identified him.
Detectives eventually learned Jones was staying at the hotel in Oakland and, joined by Oakland police officers and members of the FBI and the California Department of Justice, arrested him without incident today.
Money and other evidence was recovered from the hotel room, police said.
Jones was being held without bail in county jail in Martinez on suspicion of bank robbery, police said.
