Plan For More San Francisco Parking Meters Questioned
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Some San Francisco supervisors have raised questions about a proposal from the Municipal Transportation Agency to increase the number of parking meters in the city.
Right now, San Francisco has about 29,000 parking meters and is adding another 1,300 in the Dogpatch, South of Market and Potrero Hill neighborhoods.
San Francisco Supervisor Mark Farrell said he's not sure where it will end and what's the justification.

"San Franciscans deserve to have adequate and appropriate input into these plans and projects that could potentially affect their quality of life," he said.
Farrell and two other supervisors have now called for a hearing so the public can weigh in on the matter.
But San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose said the public always has a voice.
"With each of these neighborhoods, the first step is to reach out to them. Let them know what our parking policies are and take information that they have, using that information to develop a policy," Rose said.
The city recently added Sunday meters to the mix, using them as a way to manage parking and raise revenue.
