Photos Give Look Inside Twitter's Plush New SF Headquarters
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Social networking giant Twitter is making the move from its smaller South of Market offices into high-end digs in the city's historic Market Square building, and a look inside reveals designer touches that you won't find in most office spaces.
Photographer Troy Holden shared his images of the new mid-market offices with SFist earlier this week. Among the unique features are a rooftop garden, arcade and yoga studio. Initially, Twitter will occupy three of the eleven floors at 1355 Market, which was formerly known as the Furniture Mart.
The move comes following a decision to exempt Twitter from a city payroll tax on companies with a payroll above $250,000.
The new six-year exemption, given final approval by the Board of Supervisors last year, frees companies operating in certain parts of the city's Mid-Market and Tenderloin neighborhoods from paying payroll taxes on new employees.
Several other companies have also taken advantage of the tax break, which officials have said could revitalize the run-down neighborhood.
