Phil Matier: San Francisco Ups Confetti Order For Parade
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Fans attending the San Francisco Giants World Series parade down Market Street and up to City Hall on Wednesday were showered with even more confetti than in 2010.
In all, officials are expected to shoot of 1 ½ tons of confetti, with rooftop cannons perched on buildings along the 1.7 mile route up Market Street. That's about 10 times more than for the festivities following the team's World Series victory in 2010.

Christine Falvey, spokeswoman for San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, said they had to order more confetti for this year's parade because of the different route. Instead of heading onto some of the narrower streets in the Financial District, the parade is just sticking to Market Street, which is much wider in nature.
Confetti Unlimited in Anaheim is supplying the confetti at $10 a pound. What's still to be determined – exactly how long it will take to clean up all the mess and garbage.
