PG&E Starts Trust Fund To Help Rebuild After San Bruno Blast
SAN BRUNO (CBS / AP) -- Pacific Gas & Electric Co. has created a trust fund of up to $70 million to help the city of San Bruno rebuild after last year's deadly natural gas pipeline explosion.
City Manager Connie Jackson said the utility put up $12 million to start the account to cover costs associated with the September blast that killed 8 people and destroyed 38 homes.

Jackson told the San Mateo County Times in a story published Tuesday that the city had been fronting costs and seeking reimbursement, which proved to be a financial strain.
Company spokeswoman Brittany Chord said PG&E is committed to helping San Bruno and its residents rebuild.
The trust fund will be administered by a third-party and will cover expenses not already paid by insurance or other sources.
