PG&E Agrees To Pay For PUC Investigation Into San Bruno Blast
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Pacific Gas and Electric has agreed to cover the cost of the investigation by the California Public Utilities Commission into last fall's deadly explosion in San Bruno.
In a filing with the CPUC Friday, the utility said it would reimburse the commission for its expenses in investigating the explosion, as well as what the company termed "the costs of any other commission investigation that stems from it."
Neither PG&E or the CPUC have provided an estimate as to how much money has been spent on the investigation.
The explosion on Sept. 9 killed eight people and destroyed dozens of homes.
