Petaluma Man Arrested In Stabbing Assault
PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- A Petaluma man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another man during an altercation on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
About 4:45 p.m., Petaluma police received a report of a victim with stab wounds in the 400 block of Petaluma Boulevard South.
Officers arrived and made contact with the victim. He told police that 52-year-old Robert Sommer had stabbed him with a knife during a dispute.
Police said the victim had cuts to his torso and arms, and Petaluma Fire Department personnel treated him at the scene.
Sommer was located a short time later in Wickersham Park, about a block away, and was taken into custody without incident. He was in possession of the knife allegedly used in the stabbing, according to police.
Sommer was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and transported to Sonoma County Jail, police said.
