Petaluma Man Arrested For Setting Fire To Woman's Car
PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- A Petaluma man was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of setting a woman's car on fire in connection with a domestic violence case, according to police.
Police were called to Castle Drive at 5:50 a.m. on a report of a suspicious vehicle fire, according to Sgt. Ken Savano.
Investigators determined the vehicle had been set on fire with gasoline and identified Jonathan Gutierrez as a suspect, Savano said.
Gutierrez, 24, allegedly has a history of domestic violence and harassing and threatening phone calls to the cell phone of the car's owner.
The victim had left her vehicle parked near a friend's house overnight, Savano said.
Gutierrez was located in downtown Petaluma, and investigators found evidence linking him to the car fire. He was arrested on suspicion of felony arson and booked into Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
