Pelosi To Address House Leadership Position
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - With the November 2012 election nearly a week old, at least one question lingers: what is the future for Rep. Nancy Pelosi? Will the popular Bay Area lawmaker retain her role as Minority Leader of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives?
"I will make that announcement to my caucus," she responded when asked if she would continue in her leadership role.
"When I see my caucus I will discuss it with them," she continued. "At the beginning of this week."
KCBS' Jeffrey Schaub Reports:
Also this week, she and her colleagues on both sides of the aisle would be addressing the "fiscal cliff" - massive spending cuts and tax increases that would become reality in 2013 without a compromise between Congress and the White House.
"We have to resolve it," declared Pelosi. "The American people have spoken. The President made tax fairness a centerpiece of his presidential campaign. Everybody knew where he stood on this issue."
