Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Amtrak Train In San Lorenzo
SAN LORENZO (CBS SF) - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by an Amtrak train in San Lorenzo Wednesday afternoon, an Amtrak spokeswoman said.
Amtrak Capitol Corridor train No. 537 was heading from Sacramento to San Jose when it struck the man about 2:30 p.m. where East Lewelling Boulevard crosses the tracks, spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
He had been walking on the tracks.
Graham said that as of 3 p.m., train No. 537 was still stopped on the southbound tracks, and all other trains were single-tracking around the area.
Trains were not stopping at the nearby Hayward station.
