Pedestrian, Hit Killed At Sunnyvale Intersection

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Sunnyvale on Monday night, a Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety spokesman said.

The accident was reported at 8:23 p.m. at South Fair Oaks Avenue and El Camino Real.

When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian in the roadway unconscious and not breathing, Capt. Dave Verbrugge said.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene. Verbrugge did not yet have information about the person's age or sex.

The driver who struck the pedestrian stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
