Police activity temporarily closed part of I-80 in Contra Costa County

Caltrans said part of Interstate 80 in San Pablo was closed due to police activity on Monday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to eastbound 80 near Hilltop Drive around 7:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. Officers said one person sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  

All eastbound I-80 lanes, just west of Portal Drive, were blocked around 8:45 p.m., and CHP officers were diverting traffic to El Portal Drive as they investigated.

Caltrans said traffic was expected on local streets.

Around 9:40 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
