Parolee Arrested For Violent El Cerrito Carjacking, Beating Of Elderly Woman
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police in Oakland arrested a parolee wanted for a violent carjacking in El Cerrito that left an 89-year old woman injured Sunday night.
Investigators say James Hardy is responsible for repeatedly punching an elderly woman in the face, knocking her unconscious before driving off in her car from a CVS parking lot in El Cerrito.
"She had been beaten around the face, and pulled from her car physically. It really doesn't get more brazen than that," El Cerrito Police Lieutenant Robert De La Campa said.
Harding also allegedly assaulted a staff member at Oakland's Golden Gate Library last week.
Officers arrested Hardy after a brief struggle after he was spotted in downtown Oakland.
