Highway 1 Opened After Pair Of Devil's Slide Accidents
PACIFICA (BCN) - State Highway 1 was shut down in both directions for more than an hour Thursday morning at Devil's Slide due to two crashes that blocked the roadway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The first crash was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 1 at Devil's Slide just south of Pacifica, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
Another crash happened a short time later, possibly due to the slowdown caused by the original collision, Anderson said.
At least one person suffered minor injuries in one of the collisions, while the other caused only property damage, Anderson said.
Highway 1 was shut down until shortly after 10:50 a.m. when crews cleared the roadway of debris from the crashes, he said.
