Owens Leads Stanford Over Oregon 88-71
EUGENE, Ore. (CBS/AP) -- Josh Owens had a career-high 31 points with 11 rebounds, and Stanford prevented what would have been its longest losing streak in 18 years with an 88-71 victory against Oregon on Saturday.
Jeremy Green added 15 points and Dwight Powell had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinal (14-14, 7-10 Pac-10), who had lost four straight. A fifth defeat would have been the most in a row for Stanford since it ended the 1992-93 season with six straight losses.
Aaron Bright scored 13 points and Anthony Brown 12 for Stanford, which shot 59 percent from the field.
Malcolm Armstead led the Ducks (14-14, 7-9) with 22 points. Jay-R Strowbridge added 16 points and Johnathan Loyd 11.
