Overturned Big-Rig Causes Fuel Spill On I-680 In San Ramon
SAN RAMON (CBS SF) -- A big-rig overturned on Interstate 680 Wednesday afternoon, spilling fuel on the road and blocking three lanes of traffic during the evening commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at 4:30 p.m., when the big-rig was involved in a collision with two other cars and overturned on northbound I-680 near Crow Canyon Road.
A fuel spill was later reported, and the CHP closed three lanes of the highway to contain and clean up the spill and issued a Sig-alert at 5:30 p.m. It appears that the spilled fuel was contained to the roadway, according to the CHP.
Two of the three lanes reopened shortly before 6 p.m. No estimate is available for when the road will fully reopen.
