Open Enrollment Ending For Low-Cost Kids Health Insurance
(CBS 5) -- Parents who want to enroll their children in low-cost insurance under the federal reform must do so by Tuesday March 1st.
The Health Care Reform law dictates children with preexisting conditions can not be denied health coverage. But open enrollment ends tomorrow.
After that, acceptance is at the insurer's discretion and even children without preexisting conditions face a 20 percent surcharge.
To file an application before March 1, you can contact individual insurers directly, log on to ehealthinsurance.com or contact a 3rd party advocacy group such as America's Health Team.
