Olympic Trials To Bring U.S. Gymnasts And Business To Downtown San Jose
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — San Jose's downtown bars, restaurants and hotels are preparing for the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials which will be held at HP Pavilion starting next week.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected to be flying in from around the country according to Scott Knies, who heads up the San Jose Downtown Association.
"These are fans that follow gymnastics both on television and in person. We're going to have an audience here that we don't normally see in downtown San Jose and we look forward to serving them," Knies said.

San Jose Sports Authority Executive Director Patricia Ernstrom said for the first time the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team will actually be named at the closing night of the event on July 1st.
"This is San Jose's Olympic moment and the Bay Area's Olympic moment. This is going to be a great opportunity for folks to witness history," she said.
