Officers Hurt, 1 Critically, In San Francisco Police Car Crash
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Three San Francisco police officers were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a collision in the Potrero Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning, a police sergeant said.
Am unmarked police vehicle was involved in a collision on Potrero Avenue sometime before 2:45 a.m., Sgt. Michael Andraychak said Tuesday morning. Police said the three officers were responding to a call about a man with a knife at 24th and York streets.
At Potrero and 19th, the car hit a light pole on the south-east side of the intersection, said Andraychak.
All three uniformed officers were taken to the hospital by ambulance. One was listed in critical condition, said Andraychak. A second officer remained in the hospital in fair condition and a third was treated and released, he said.

Sobriety was not considered a factor but the driver will be tested according to department policy.
No word yet on the cause of the collision.
Andraychak said Chief of Police Greg Suhr and Fire Chief Hayes-White both responded to the scene and to the hospital to visit the officers.
