Oakland Warrant Sting Nets 32 Arrests, Weapons
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Thirty-two people were arrested in Oakland last week during a three-day warrant sweep that included multiple felony suspects, police announced Monday.
The suspects were wanted for various crimes including murder, felony assault, robbery, and burglary, police said.
A number of felony probation and parole violators were also arrested.
Law enforcement agents also recovered one illegally possessed rifle, one revolver, and one homemade firearm called a "zip gun."
The multi-agency sweep included eight teams of officers, five led by Oakland police and three by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Along with Oakland police and U.S. Marshals, the collaboration included nine other law enforcement organizations, including the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and San Francisco police.
No one was injured during the sweeps.
