Oakland Suspects Evade Police Following Chase
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland police have called off the search Wednesday night for three or four suspects who fled from police near Emeryville and later crashed their car east of Lake Merritt.
The pursuit started when police attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be associated with a gang near the corner of West MacArthur Boulevard and Market Street shortly before 4 p.m., police said.
The suspects fled and officers broke off their pursuit for fear of endangering public safety, Officer Johnna Watson said.
