Oakland Police Chase Of Parolee Results In 2 Crashes, Carjacking
OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- An Oakland police chase on Friday of a wanted parolee resulted in two car crashes and a carjacking before the man was captured, authorities said.
The pursuit began at 12:15 p.m. after patrol cars attempted to stop a vehicle with the suspect inside at Grand Avenue and MacArthur Blvd., according to OPD Sgt. Chris Bolton.
Bolton said during the chase of the fleeing parolee, there were "two separate vehicle collisions and the additional carjacking of a red SUV before the suspect's capture near Harold Street and Coolidge Avenue."
Police did not immediately release the name of the parolee or indicate why he was being sought by authorities.
